CHENNAI: Vice-President Hamid Ansaari will be the chief guest at the valedictory function of the 175th year celebrations at the Madras Christian College on November 13.
The valedictory function will be held at the Anderson Hall at 11.15am. Other dignitaries who would participate at the event include Tamil Nadu governor K Rosiah, Rajya Sabha deputy chairman P J Kurien and state higher education minister and P Palaniappan.
The valedictory function will be followed by a graduation day event. P J Kurien will deliver the graduation day speech and will distribute prizes.
The college conducted several events in the last one year as part of the 175th year celebrations. They include events like planting of 175 different species of trees on the campus, starting of a community college and the setting up of RO plants for providing purified drinking water for the students. The celebrations also included academic, cultural and other events. Many infrastructural projects were also taken in connection celebrations.
